INGREDIENTS
- Crab meat - 1 lb
- Onion - 1 big
- Coconut powder/grated coconut - 1/4 cup
- Cloves - 4
- Cinnamom stick - 1 inch
- Peppercons - 4
- Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
- Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1&1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Garlic cloves -2 to 3
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Cilantro - 3 to 4 tbsp
PREPARATION
- Clean the crab meat and apply salt and tumeric powder .Keep it aside.Let it marinate for about 20 minutes.
- Place the pan on medium flame and add oil into it.
- When oil heats up add cloves,cinnamom stick and peppercons.Fry it for a minute and take it out into one plate.
- Then add fennel seeds and sesame seeds and fry for a minute.Take it out into the same plate.
- If oil is less in the pan add little more oil and add ginger pieces and garlic.
- Fry for a while and then add diced onion.Fry till onion slightly changes its colour.
- Then add coconut powder and fry till coconut turns light brown in colour.
- Take out all the fried ingredients into the plate and let it cool before you grind it.
- When fried mixture cools down grind it to the smooth paste.
- Keep the grounded paste thick.Do not add too much of water.
- Take the same pan and add the remaining oil into it.
- Now add marinated crab meat and give a good stir.
- Close the lid and cook for about 2 minutes.Then add grounded paste and mix well.
- Add all the dry masala powder and stir well.
- Check for a salt if needed you can add little more.
- Add little water and close the lid and cook till crab meat cooks well.
- When done garnish it with cilantro and serve with chapathi or rotis.
