INGREDIENTS
This quantity will serve 2 people
- Paan – 4 to 5 nos
- Sugar – 1 tbsp
- Gulkand – 2 tbsp
- Cardamom pods -2 nos
- Water – 2 cups
- Ice cubes – optional
METHOD
- Roughly chop the betel leaves and add it into the mixer.
- Add in sugar, gulkand and cardamom pods. Blend everything together to a coarse paste. Do not add water while grinding. As gulkand has enough moisture to grind the ingredients into a coarse paste.
- I have find out one thing, if we grind the mixture for too long, the taste of the leaves turns bitter. So grind it for only 5 to 10 seconds.
- Then take out the coarse paste into a jar. Add in 2 cups of water and stir it well.
- Let the sharbat rest it for at least 1 hour before serving. Keep it in refrigerator.
- At the time of serving, strain the sharbat to avoid any particles coming into the mouth while drinking sharbat. You can also add ice cubes in the sharbat,
- Here we go Paan Sharbat is ready to serve.
