According to UNICEF, our highly populated country, ‘India ’, stands
first when it comes to number of people who openly defecate . This leads to
massive impact on every Indian especially our poor Indian girls. The reason to
this problem is the lack of financial facility and the willingness of our
society to understand its importance. Lack of financial facility does not allow
rural or urban areas to build a proper toilet to their residents despite some
concerned individuals. At a time when mobile phones and two wheelers are
becoming common in almost all homes, it is unfortunate that we are still not
able to provide a basic necessity to our kids.
The consequence of openly defecating is that human starts to
pollute the environment and which in turn impacts the humans only. It is like
we are inviting the evil to spoil our health through our own hands. As most of you must be aware that human waste
is dangerous substance which can pollute the environment with many harmful germs
that can lead to any serious ailments like jaundice, diaherra etc.
According to the recent study done on cancer survey, apart
from breast cancer many women are suffering with cervical cancer. One of the
most common reasons for cervical cancer is mainly due to use of unhygienic
places for disposing of human waste.
Though faced from pressure some agencies have built toilers.
But Apart from building toilers few things to be remember as a requirement of
toilets are
·
Toilets should be built in open and safe place
to avoid any incident such as rape etc.
·
Keep cleanliness is important since healthy health
is important. Maintaining toilets especially in schools and colleges can help
the children to stay fit and health
·
Toilets with better facilities like the toilet
with proper door and good water supply. The different genders need to have
different toilets to each one of them
If we look into the present survey results, it is clear that
around 50 % of people death occurs due to lack of sanitation and lack of hygiene.
Also there are 15 million school and colleges in in India that have no proper toilet cleaning
facility but still manage to keep themselves safe from contaminated diseases.
But the important question is how long these people can
survive. One or the other day even these poor people will be target by any
harmful ailments. Poorly built public toilets are also a main cause for the
contamination and illness.
